Cramer Urges Caution as Artificial Intelligence Stocks Surge Again

Jim Cramer is urging investors to keep their guards up despite a recent surge in artificial intelligence stocks. Appearing on his show Mad Money, the CNBC host warned that while markets are reacting positively to fresh capital injections into the sector, the underlying problems plaguing the data center trade remain unresolved. This caution comes after a two day rally triggered by a massive sixty three billion dollar financing deal involving Anthropic and Broadcom, which reignited enthusiasm for chipmakers and related infrastructure.

While many traders viewed the funding deal as a sign that the AI boom is back on track, Cramer believes the excitement masks deeper structural risks. He specifically pointed to neocloud providers like CoreWeave and Nebius, noting that these smaller firms are piling on dangerous levels of debt to expand their operations. With interest rates remaining high, Cramer argues that these companies are vulnerable to sudden shifts in sentiment and suggests that any current price rebounds might be temporary.

Further complicating the picture is how these deals are actually structured. Cramer noted that Anthropic is essentially borrowing money to buy hardware from Broadcom rather than using actual profits from its own services to grow. To him, this indicates a reliance on external credit that could become unsustainable if returns do not materialize quickly enough. He reminded viewers that aside from giants like Nvidia, most players in the data center space lack deep pockets and must rely on expensive loans to stay competitive.

Adding to the tension is an unpredictable macroeconomic environment heading into a critical week. Between an upcoming Federal Reserve interest rate decision and looming midterm elections, Cramer warns that bond market stability could vanish overnight. Though he maintains his long term belief in the overall AI build out, he insists it is too early to declare victory over volatility and encourages investors to diversify into other areas of the economy instead of chasing a potentially fragile recovery.
